The Battle of the Strong screenplay is based on the 19th-century best-selling book by the successful author Sir Gilbert Parker.
Parker, a Canadian author and British politician, wrote The Battle of the Strong while staying on the island of Jersey. The story is predominantly set in Jersey and France.
It went on to become the 10th best-selling book in the United States in 1898, and was later adapted into a theatre show starring Maurice Barrymore.
Producer Marc Cameron, founder of Cameron//Hudson Productions, wrote the screenplay in 2019, and plans to launch the movie in cinemas by 2023.
